200 Years of History in One Art Collection
Beginning in March of 2019, Heart of America Artists Association joined with the states of Arkansas and Oklahoma, commemorating the 200th year of the Arkansas Territory. Approximately 80 two-dimensional artworks in a variety of mediums, by artists from nine states, were juried into a collection and were based on people, places, objects, stories and cultures from the two centuries of the geographical Arkansas Territory. The Exhibition travelled to several locations including museums and galleries in Arkansas and Oklahoma in 2019 and 2020. (See a sampling of the artworks below.)

John Brown University Windgate Gallery [Finished]

Cane Hill Museum [Finished]
May -June 2019, Cane Hill, AR
Cane Hill is the earliest settled location in Northwest Arkansas and the home to Arkansas’ first college, established only 3 years after the Arkansas Territory was so named.

Historic Arkansas Museum [Finished]
July 12 – September 8, 2019, Little Rock, AR
Arkansas’s foremost history museum will be having their own Arkansas Territory Bicentennial Celebration, and we are proud to be featured as a part of it in the Trinity Gallery for two months.
River Valley Arts Center [Finished]
September 20 – December 20, 2019, Russellville, AR
The River Valley Arts Center is an important part of the Russellville community. They will provide opportunities in the three-month exhibition for young people and adults alike to be able to view the collection.
Charles B. Goddard Center for the Visual and Performing Arts [Finished]

We are excited to partner with The Goddard Center supporting the advancement of cultural activities in Southern Oklahoma.
South Arkansas Arts Center

Leslie Powell Foundation Gallery

Price Tower Arts Center [Finished]
October 9, 2020 – January 15, 2021, Bartlesville, OK
The gallery space in Price Tower will be a great place to have our final showing. Bartlesville is a wonderful art town and Price Tower, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright is the town’s pride and joy.
