Description
Artwork Size: 20×16, Medium: Oil, Location Depicted in Artwork: Prairie Grove, AR, Artist Statement: This painting represents part of the land in Prairie Grove, Arkansas. where both the Confederate and Union armies fought on December 7, 1862. In that one day battle, the dead, wounded, or missing exceeded well over 2,600 men. Casualties were distributed fairly equally between both armies. The battle fought that day ended up securing NW Arkansas for the Union. The title of my painting reflects the oil colors used, and the somber feel of the land.
