Description
Artwork Size: 24×30, Medium: Oil, Location Depicted in Artwork: Pawhuska, OK (this will be outside the map, but okay to show that), Artist Statement: The Tallgrass Preserve near Pawhuska, Oklahoma supports as many as 2,500 buffalo and today these animals graze among more than 100 producing oil wells. Buffalo are social animals, so it’s not unusual for a new calf to be protected by the whole heard. A white buffalo calf is high revered by Native Americans because it is a symbol of abundance.
