Description

Artwork Size: 14×14, Medium: Acrylic, Location Depicted in Artwork: AR & OK, Artist Statement: The original Arkansaw Territory included huge herds of Buffalo. Native American tribes depended on these animals for multiple uses, with every part utilized to sustain existance: food, clothing, tipis, weaponry, tools, medicinal curatives and spiritual lives. Tribes moved 6 to 8 times a year, following the migration of the Buffalo, a historical symbol of endurance. The petroglyph drawings are historical records of the trials and hardship during territorial times.
