Description
Artwork Size: 11×14, Medium: Watercolor, Location Depicted in Artwork: Cane Hill, AR, Artist Statement: With a life-span of up to 400 years, individual Bur Oak trees are still alive today, which were witness to the adventuresome pioneers who trekked across the Arkansas Territory during the first quarter of the 19th century. Bur Oak logs were no doubt used by territorial settlers to construct their houses and barns. Over the past 200 years, great change has occurred across the landscape of the Arkansas Territory, but majestic Bur Oaks remain, standing as symbols of strength and resilience.
