Artwork Size: 12×16, Medium: Encaustic on cradled birch panel, Location Depicted in Artwork: Mississippi Delta of AR, Artist Statement: Inspired by the alluvial plains and broad horizons of the Mississippi River Delta. Rather than depth of horizon, I look for the depth of the soil, and its origins in the river, that literally and metaphorically washes the the heart of our country clean and holds our history in its own depths.
